Call Center Cubes

What is a Call Center Cubicle?

Call Center/Telemarketing Stations

Call center and telemarketing cubicles are smaller workstations that are utilized in call centers to maximize floor space, providing a workspace for a large number of employees. These cubes are typically very simple, easy to reconfigure and add to, and provide a semi-private environment with panel heights ranging from 43”-56” high. These heights allow for an open line of site across the floor, as well as encourage collaboration amongst co-workers.

Call center cubes are usually installed in a back-to-back type configuration, in straight or angled rows, with a larger manager/supervisor station at the end of some or all rows. This type of layout is very efficient when trying to fit a large number of cubes into a given space, and it is cost-effective as panels are shared between the cubes. Electrical and data lines are run down the center “spine” panel wall, powering the call center cubes on both sides.

While the sizes of call center cubes vary, some of the most common sizes are 2’x4’, 2’6”x5’, and 4’x6’. These sizes allow for basic call center operations, and can accommodate a minimal amount of storage, typically a pencil drawer or a Box/Box/File pedestal, which provides two 6” drawers and one 12” drawer for desk accessory and filing storage . You will not usually find overhead storage in call center cubes as the low panels cannot accommodate this type of storage. However, if you choose taller panels, such as 62” or higher, then overhead storage is certainly an option.
